Mark Stegbauer is an artist of comics. He's mostly an inker, but every now and then flexes his pencillin' muscles on various things of his own. He grew up wanting to be an artist, and now has his wish. Can open, worms everywhere!

Everything old is new again...
The past can be a funny thing. It seems to be a place I visit a lot. There are many things about the past I wish I could change (Don't we all?), but when it comes down to it, the past is the past.
Thats why it's always amazing to re-connect with people from my past, people who I haven't talked to in 5 years or more. Especially people I haven't worked with in 5 years or more. A few weeks back I was on Facebook, where I am frequently, and was chatting with Ruben Diaz. I worked with Roo back when he was an editor at DC Comics. I did some inking work for him on a few titles here and there. He now does all sorts of multi-media stuff in Philly. But he asked me if I was interested in inking something. Never wanting to turn down work, I of course said yes.
He's been working with a local wrestling circuit to help promote them by doing some comic type art projects. They do dvds of their matches, and for covers, Roo has had some artists do re-creations of classic comic covers. The piece above is one of the covers that I did. I have also inked one that Roo pencilled.
It's been 15 years since I worked with Roo, and we just picked up like it was the old days. He's a good guy, is a believer that talent is just as important as a name.
Hopefully this will lead to more things with Roo.
Work is good. Work with people you know is better.
